Seniors Real Estate Specialist® (“SRES®”) Designation Course

The Seniors Real Estate Specialist® (SRES®) designation helps REALTORS® develop the business-building skills and resources for specialization in the 50+ real estate market by expanding knowledge of how life stages impact real estate choices, fostering empathy with clients and customers, and connecting to a network of resources.

Baby Boomers represent the largest and wealthiest group of homebuyers and sellers in the country. Understand what motivates this growing market and how to address their needs with the prestigious SRES® designation. This two-day training program offers real estate professionals the unique opportunity to learn and build key skills in counseling adults ages 50+ through selling their family home, buying rental property, and moving to a senior community, among many other issues.

• Generational characteristics of demographic groupings in the 50+ market
• Retirement in the 21st century
• Housing options, including active-adult communities, aging in place, and assisted living
• Finance, tax, and legal considerations
• Marketing strategies and counseling methods
• Developing a team of experts and service providers for 50+ clients

Designation Requirements*

These three (3) requirements must be met to attain and use the SRES® Designation: 

• Successful completion of the two-day SRES® Designation Course.
• Membership in good standing in the SRES® Council. New designees receive one year of membership free. Annual dues are $99 each year thereafter.
• Maintain active membership status with the National Association of REALTORS®

The SRES® two-day course qualifies as an elective toward the ABR® and SRS Designations.

IMPORTANT! Attendance requirements: This is an in-person training. To receive CE credit, attendees must sign-in and attend the full duration of class. Those who arrive more than 30 minutes late to the session will not be eligible to receive CE credit.

Instructor: Rick Franz has been an active real estate broker for the last 34 years. A shy billion dollars of sales can be attributed to his honesty, enthusiasm, determination, tenacity, and attention to details. Rick is an active member of Forum XXII, an organization for Seattle’s top Real Estate Brokers, a Windermere Premier Executive Director and a certified National Real Estate Instructor. His prior career, starting at the age of thirteen in Germany, was in the hospitality industry as a baker, chef, restauranteur, and hotelier.
